Welcome back! This is the second episode of Witness. Today, we have Elisa Torres Durney.
Today, Cassie brings us on a insightful conversation with Elisa Torres Durney, the founder and CEO of Girls in Quantum. Girls in Quantum is a global platform that makes complex science accessible to over 8,000 students across 60 countries. Similar to us, Elisa manages an international grassroots organization, seeking to uplift scientists of the future. Elisa takes us on the journey of how her organization came about, and how crucial it is for voices of the new generation to be heard in an era of media polarization, conflict, and algorithms. While Elisa platforms empowers girls to become the future’s scientists, and us as leaders of at The Sunday Diplomat spotlight young journalists, we share one thing in common – and that is being first hand ‘witnesses’ of innovation and empathy in action. We hope this conversation can inspire more young people to engage in grassroots work and acknowledge just how valuable their voices are at shaping our future during uncertain times.
